Dear friends and family of Glory to God International Ministries (GTGIM),
We invite you to experience Part 2 of the “Guardians of Hope” tour that is only made possible with a team united, yielded, and obedient to following the Spirit of God to wherever He may lead. We are grateful for our faithful intercessors who make way for the Lord and undergird the entire pilgrimage in prayer.
In Part 1, we left off with our sister Margaret and the Reconnect to Life Mentoring Team overflowing with joy for the great response to the Anti-Virus program. Margaret’s steadfast trust and sacrifices of her team brought Heaven to earth.
We pick up in Part 2 with the GTGIM team going to visit Port Harcourt correctional facilities which included the maximum-security prison and juvenile detention centers.
The team that helps Margaret with the weekly visits to 3 separate correctional facilities. GTGIM puts on programs for Port Harcourt maximum-security and a separate program for Juvenile Corrections. Included is the “Oyibo” (white man).
From Jim: While in the maximum-security facility, we were asked if we would kick off the facility soccer tournament game. So, the DCP and Jim went to mid-field and kicked the first ball to open the game🤾🏼♂️. After the program at Max Corrections, we went to the Juvenile center to encourage the youth. The inmates sang for us and put on drama’s and the RCL team encouraged through the word. During our final prayer exhortation over the children one young lady was delivered from a spirit of Rebellion. Another only God moment. 🙏
A very rewarding 3 hours at the Port Harcourt Rehabilitation Center. Pictured here are Margaret, Christie the Director, Jim, and Bishop Cornelius in Christie’s office. Yep, that’s what is on this Warriors wall right across from her desk! This center is so needed. We lead a meeting of around 12 clients on the reality of drug and alcohol addiction. Bishop and Margaret handled the Gospel and Praise, a wonderful blessing to be the hands and feet of the Kingdom.
“But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphant procession. Now He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.” 2 Corinthians 2:4 NLT
The next stop on the “Guardian of Hope” tour is Benin City, a familiar place to Jim with long-term and dear relationships. Jim was greeted at the airport by Obi, John Bull, Adebayo and Good News in a joyful reunion. The five amigos are reunited again for this divinely appointed journey in Benin City.
There are ministries, schools, and orphanages that GTGIM has been called to come alongside and new relationships to partner with for Kingdom advancement. This is a rich time of joyous reunions, discipleship and seeking divine direction and wisdom. We celebrate with joy as Jim and the GTGIM team kick off the first leg of the journey,
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 NIV
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 NIV
IDP Camp: After the personal visits, Jim and team visited the IDP Camp where the internally displaced children live. This is just one of three that exist in Nigeria. Today there are around 3,500 children living in this camp. Most of the children are orphans and survivors of the Boka Haram raids and terrorism of the small villages in Northern Nigeria. Jim and Susan began ministering there in 2009. At that time there were a little over 1,000 children there. GTGIM has been blessed to provide food, fun, snacks, drinks, books, education, medical supplies, sporting equipment and built a science lab and hygiene center for the children.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
“I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.” John 14:18
We hope you have enjoyed Part 2 of the “Guardians of Hope” journey. We are thankful for your prayers, love, and support for GTGIM U.S. and GTGIM NIGERIA Teams who have a passion to bring the Good News of the Kingdom to their area of influence. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for this ministry and thank you for teaming with us to Encourage, Equip and Enable God’s remnant. Christ in us – the hope of glory! GTG!
Stay tuned for Part 3…more to come.
Your GTGIM family
