God Uses Abandoned Child to Change Kenya and Now the World

There are over 100,000 orphans in Kenya’s slums where one out five will not live to their fifth birthday. Charles Mulli was one of those children. For ten years, he was a street boy who stole and begged in order to survive. As he was considering suicide, a young man invited him to a time of prayer and fellowship at his church. During that service, hope was planted in his heart when he heard the minister say, “Work hard, and nothing will be impossible with God!” These words set him on a journey that not only changed his life, but many years later, the lives of thousands of others when he made the decision to give his life completely to the Lord.
At the height of his success, God uses an encounter with some street boys to take his life in a totally unexpected direction. His initial reaction to these young boys was one of disdain and rejection when they offered to watch his luxury automobile while he attended a meeting. When he came out of the meeting and discovered his car had been stolen, he was forced to take public transportation home. During that bus ride, God reminded him of his past and as the faces of these young boys passed before him in his memory, he saw himself. Days later, Charles found himself miles from home, sitting in his car, crying out to God for hours. As he laid everything at the feet of Jesus, and said, “Yes, God use me.”, joy filled his heart.
From that day to present, Dr. Mulli has dedicated his life to rescuing street children in Kenya’s slums. With the support of his beautiful wife, Esther, the Mully Children’s Family (MCF) ministry was born. Their vision is for the ministry to be self-sustaining, and through their strong faith in the power of God, they have seen that vision come to fruition. God has truly blessed everything they have touched. Over the past 27 years, MCF has seen over 12,000 children restored and grow up to be contributing citizens of Kenya. But it doesn’t stop there. God is still on the move! Dr. Mulli is sharing his story, so everyone can see that one person totally committed to God can change the world.
