PRAYER MEDITATION
TRUST REQUIRES TRUTH
(Part 3).
The bible says, God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Gen.2:15)
Today God may be saying to you I’ve prepared you, placed you where you need to be, planted blessings in your life that are scheduled to come up at different times but now, you’ve got to work it. Stop looking for gardens that are already pruned, you have to prune your own garden. You have to go through your own struggles and shed your own tears. When people give you stuff they can take it from you. When God gives you, it’s yours! You’ve got to take care of it. You have to prune your own children, they are not going to turn out right if you neglect them (Pro.22:6). You have to prune your relationships, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the ungodly”. (Psalm. 1:1). You have to prune your business. That means honoring God as your partner, allowing Him to use your business to promote His business.
When you walk with God He’ll protect and prosper you, even in hard times but you’ve still got to walk it. Ask any farmer, wheat left unattended will eventually seed itself to death. It must be cultivated. There’s nothing wrong with your life, except that you expect God to do the things you should be doing. Come on! Get some shears and start pruning, get up and go on with God, start now. If something is rotten in your refrigerator you know it every time you open the door. You may not know exactly where it’s located but the smell tells you it’s in there. Our lives are like that, if there’s something wrong within us, those we come in contact with are going to sense it whether or not they know what it is or why it is there. It gives off some odor that’s detectable. That’s why we must continually open ourselves to God and allow the Holy Spirit to come in, cleanse our hearts and remove whatever is hindering us in our walk with him.
“You can trust a friend who corrects you” Pro.27:6. Here are two nuggets of truth that can cement any friendship (a) Honesty (b) loyalty. The bible says “you can trust a friend who corrects you but kisses from an enemy are nothing but lies”. A real friend may upset you by telling you the truth but he or she will tell you the truth nonetheless. They may not always tell you what you want to hear but if they truly love you they’ll tell you what you need to hear, in the short run it may hurt but in the long run it helps you. When you want to measure a relationship to determine if it qualifies as true and genuine friendship, here are two questions you should ask a person. 1) Can I trust you enough to be totally honest with me? 2) Can I trust you enough to be totally honest with you? Only true friendship expect and can survive such mutual honesty. The next quality in determining and keeping a friend is “Loyalty” there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Pro.18:24). The word stick refers to how skin sticks to the bone. A true friend like Jesus will always be your defense attorney before he or she becomes your judge. There’s no such thing as “a fair weather friend”, you don’t need friends in fair weather. You need them when the weather gets nasty. A fair weather friend is no friend at all but JESUS is the friend you need…..TRUST HIM.
