Today marks a new chapter in the GTGIM mission trip, as our team will be moving into the Prison Ministry leg of their journey. They started off at a medium-security prison in Benin City on Monday, and then took a five-hour drive to Port Harcourt where they met with Margret, a Nigerian prison minister and dear friend to Jim, and her team. They will then head back to Benin City to visit one final prison there. All in all, the GTGIM team will visit 5 separate prisons – 2 in Benin City and 3 in Port Harcourt.
This part of the trip is where Tim’s gift and 17-year ministry as a prison minister in Ohio will be very useful. After a chance meeting with Jim and Sue at a church in Sugarcreek, Ohio, it was clear that Tim Reed was an answer to prayer. His heart and talent for speaking into the lives of prisoners is being beautifully bridged with about 5000 Nigerian prisoners who will have the opportunity to hear the gospel of the saving love of Jesus Christ.
