On Wednesday, 09/21, the GTGIM team had the opportunity to meet with a handful of pastors at Solid Rock Church who had been under the mentorship of Pastor Francis Okaka, followed by a meeting with Grace Wambugu. Grace has been a part of the trips to Nigeria from the very start – before GTGIM was ever an established entity, there was Grace. She and her husband, John, were the catalyst for getting Care Ministries to Nigeria. It was under Care Ministries that Jim and Susan made their first trip to Nigeria, and the relationships have been growing ever since. Grace’s life has been wrought with devastating circumstances, but God has proven Himself faithful, as He always does! Grace has a dream to restore her village church, and as a result of the generous heart of a GTGIM donor (and dear friend) Nancy Gearhart, that dream is being realized. GTGIM is honored to be a part of bridging the gap between these two women, so that God may be glorified in the unity of His people.
Later that night, Jim had the opportunity to speak at the church of dear friends Adebayo and Gladys. It was a much needed slow day, full of fellowship and rest. The team is preparing to return to the IDP Camp in Benin City tomorrow.
